Interview: Goblin Market

“Goblin Market” is currently running as part of Theatre UNB’s (TUNB) Duels and Duets lineup. Originally inspired by a Christina Rossetti poem of the same name, “Goblin Market” is lodged within a series of queer Covid-19 plays that explore young adult relationships through contemporary anxieties about what it means to feel connected amidst a global pandemic. “Borreal,” one of the other plays in this series, was read as part of the Plain Site Theatre Festival at St. Thomas University in October of 2020, and “Archive of Fallen Stars” was commissioned by Live Bait Theatre in August of 2020.

As publicity, I sat down with Devin Rockwell of TUNB and the actresses of the show in order to discuss expansive Covidian awareness, eating lunches under stairwells, and goblin men.
